Dr. Heidt Kozisek received her Doctor of Philosophy degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1996, with a focus on Developmental Child Clinical Psychology. She has been licensed in the state of Nebraska since 1997. 

 

Dr. Heidt Kozisek’s clinical experience includes work in outpatient private practice and community mental health clinics, day treatment programs, and inpatient hospital settings, where she has provided both assessment and therapy.

 

For almost two decades, she has been involved in the development and implementation of abuse prevention and victim outreach programs for the Roman Catholic Church. She has served as the Director of Child Protection, Safe Environment Coordinator, and Victim Assistance Coordinator for her local diocese; has been a member of conference planning and development committees for the Secretariat for Child and Youth Protection; was a consultant to the United States Conference of Catholic Bishop’s Committee for the Protection of Children and Young People; and was blessed to serve on the Nebraska team for The Way:  Healing Retreats for Adult Survivors of Abuse..

Dedicated to Rural Mental  Health

In addition to providing care through state and private hospitals, community mental health centers, and nonprofit organizations across the state, Dr. Heidt Kozisek has served on the Hall County Mental Health Board since  2010.  Through her work for the Diocese of Grand Island and participation in  the Nebraska State Suicide Prevention Coalition  she was instrumental in obtaining QPR for Suicide Prevention trainings and Mental Health First Aid workshops for Parishes and Catholic Schools across rural Nebraska.

A Nebraska native and farm wife, Dr. Heidt Kozisek resides on a family farm in rural Howard County.
